Mobility and Health in Nepal
2008-10-03
The Nepal participants of the International Networked Research programme 'Mobility and Health' hosted two events in August to share and promote the findings of the international programme and the Asian case studies in particular. An internal workshop among the Asia participants of the programme was followed by an open workshop for all interested stakeholders. The aim of these events was to initiate an advocacy strategy to be taken forward in the countries in which Mobility and Health research was conducted and to agree upon a common policy agenda/platform on health and mobility issues based upon the findings from the international research.
At the public workshop participants included representatives from amongst others; the Asian Development Bank, IoM, World Bank, UNFPA, Ministry of Health and Population, WHO, USAID, and the national media including television, radio and the print press.
