The West and Central Africa region of the IFRTD represents all CEMAC, CEDEAO countries and Madagascar. In spite of the existence of three different languages in the region, French-speaking areas predominate. There are 7 National Forum Groups (GFN), namely: Senegal, Côte d'Ivoire, Niger, Cameroon, Burkina Faso, Guinea Conakry, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ivory Coast, Togo and Benin. Apart from the GFN there are also active individual members in: Chad, RCA, Ghana, Liberia and Congo.

Thematic topics taken up at the regional level will include: i) transport and poverty reduction; ii) transport and gender; iii) transport and security iv) transport and vulnerable people; v) rural women (producers) and transport; vi) rural transport in post-disaster situations.
